It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Apollo Hawks can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Knights on the road and fell 78-14. Apollo's defeat signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Apollo still got an impressive performance from Adam Mohammed, who picked up 93 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 100 yards. Mohammed is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played.
Higley was led to victory by Gunner Fagrell and Daxen Hall. Fagrell threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 14.8 yards per attempt, while Hall gained 188 total yards and six touchdowns. Hall was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 65 yards.
Apollo's loss dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Higley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.
Apollo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Higley will be playing in front of their home fans against Desert Edge at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Desert Edge's defense has only allowed 14.5 points per game this season, so Higley's offense will have their work cut out for Higley.
