Traverse City Central is 9-1 against Gaylord since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Traverse City Central Trojans' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Gaylord Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Traverse City Central earned a 62-53 victory over Petoskey. The victory was just what Traverse City Central needed coming off of a 70-37 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Gaylord had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They secured a 50-45 W over Elk Rapids. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Gaylord has scored all year.
Luke Gelow was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with nine rebounds. The contest was his sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Traverse City Central's victory bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Gaylord, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Everything came up roses for Traverse City Central against Gaylord in their previous meeting back in February as the team secured a 61-30 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Traverse City Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
