Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Elgin/Pope John to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jarek Erickson, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards. Erickson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Karson Kallhoff, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 15 points.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Stuart over Chambers/Wheeler Central in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. The Broncos blew past the Renegades 42-22. The Broncos haven't had any issues with the Renegades recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Stuart's win came from a few key players that Elgin/Pope John will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Drew Schmaderer, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 14 boards. Those 14 rebounds gave him a new career-high. Trey Wallinger was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.
Elgin/Pope John's record is now 13-0. As for Stuart, their record now sits at 9-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Elgin/Pope John has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Stuart struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 30.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Elgin/Pope John beat Stuart 55-44 when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Will the Wolfpack repeat their success, or do the Broncos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
