Bath County is 7-2 against Fairview since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Bath County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
On Saturday, Bath County didn't have quite enough to beat Mason County and fell 5-4.
Gage Thompson put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over 4.2 innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent over his last five contests. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Thompson wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Isaac Ulery, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Ulery is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, Fairview narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Notre Dame 9-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
The team relied heavily on Hunter Good, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Logan McCormick, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Bath County's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Fairview, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bath County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fairview struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Bath County couldn't quite get it done against Fairview when the teams last played back in May of 2025 as they fell 5-1. Will the Wildcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
