They were outmatched by the Lions on the road and fell 47-7. Archbishop Carroll's defeat signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Archbishop Carroll lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ryan Castro. Despite the final result, he rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown.
Chaminade-Madonna's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cedrick Bailey, who threw for 109 yards and four touchdowns on only ten passes. Bailey is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played. Joshisa Trader did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Archbishop Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Chaminade-Madonna, their victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0.
Archbishop Carroll does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Chaminade-Madonna will face off against Clearwater Central Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Clearwater Central Catholic: 14.8, Chaminade-Madonna: 10.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
