Bad Axe and Unionville-Sebewaing are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Bad Axe Hatchets will head out on the road to challenge the Unionville-Sebewaing Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bad Axe has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Bad Axe fought the good fight in their overtime game against Vassar on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to the Vulcans.
Meanwhile, Unionville-Sebewaing's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They took a 59-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Deckerville.
Bad Axe's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Unionville-Sebewaing, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.
Bad Axe didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Unionville-Sebewaing in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 36-30 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bad Axe since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
