MacArthur has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Bloomington Purple Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in MacArthur's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three contests.
Last Friday, MacArthur didn't have too much trouble with Sacred Heart-Griffin at home as they won 45-27.
Meanwhile, after only 12 points in their last matchup, Bloomington made sure to put some points up on the board against Champaign Central on Friday. Bloomington simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Champaign Central 40-2 on the road. Given Bloomington's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Champaign Central is ranked 342nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rob Lanier was a one-man wrecking crew for Bloomington as he rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries.
MacArthur's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.7 points per game. As for Bloomington, their win on Friday also bumped their record up to 5-3.
