River Ridge is 0-10 against the Bulldogs since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The River Ridge Royal Knights will square off against the Zephyrhills Bulldogs at TBD. River Ridge is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
River Ridge scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 85-36 victory over Cristo Rey Tampa at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory River Ridge has managed all season.
River Ridge's success was spearheaded by the efforts of JOHN GOLDEN, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, and Colten Weldon, who scored 18 points along with three steals. It was the first time this season that Weldon scored 15 or more points. THOMAS DELORETO was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Zephyrhills pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Springstead 61-57. Zephyrhills' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
River Ridge's win bumped their record up to 5-15. As for Zephyrhills, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-11.
River Ridge came up short against the Bulldogs in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 60-55. Can River Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
