After two games on the road, Moberly is heading back home. They will take on the Northeast Bearcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northeast took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Moberly, who comes in off a win.
On Monday, Moberly narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Hannibal 6-5.
Mia Faught made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 9 batters over 7 innings while giving up 3 earned (and two unearned) runs off 8 hits. She paired that with a solid showing in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 while logging 1 home run, 4 RBIs, and 1 double.
In other pitching news, Moberly also got a great performance from Faught as she struck out 9 batters over 7 innings while giving up 3 earned (and two unearned) runs off 8 hits.
Back at the plate, Faught was incredible, striking out 9 batters over 7 innings while giving up 3 earned (and two unearned) runs off 8 hits. Jaycee Engel was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances while logging 2 stolen bases, 2 runs, and 2 walks.
Moberly took advantage of their speed and finished the game with five stolen bases. They have not posted that many stolen bases since the 17th, when they also snagged five vs. Marshall.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Northeast's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fayette. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Bearcats couldn't push the score so high this time.
Northeast now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Moberly, they have been on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's given a solid lift to their 14-10 record this season.
Moberly beat Northeast 9-5 the last time they met, on September 30, 2025 last season. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Bearcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
