On Tuesday, South Pike didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Wesson, but they still walked away with a 42-37 victory.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Jefferson County, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-37 loss to Port Gibson on Tuesday. Jefferson County was down 46-24 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
South Pike pushed their record up to 15-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Jefferson County, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.
