Even though the Laurel Hill Hoboes scored an imposing 62 points on Friday, the Freeport Bulldogs still came out on top. Freeport skirted past Laurel Hill 64-62. Freeport didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.
Freeport's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julius Miles, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. Dameyan Martin was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Freeport's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Laurel Hill, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freeport will take on Altha at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Laurel Hill, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Holmes County at 5:30 p.m. on January 29th.
