Springfield is 0-10 against Rossview since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Springfield Yellow Jackets will take on the Rossview Hawks at 7:15 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Springfield took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 65-31 win over West Creek.
Rayne Erickson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Amaya Walker, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Northwest typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Rossview proved too difficult a challenge. They strolled past the Vikings with points to spare, taking the game 50-34. Given Rossview's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Northwest is ranked 226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Springfield now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Rossview, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.
Springfield came up short against Rossview in their previous matchup on Tuesday, falling 59-48. Can Springfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
