The Evansville Memorial Tigers had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victor by a 69-49 margin over Gibson Southern. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Evansville Memorial also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Among those leading the charge was Tucker Tornatta, who scored 28 points. Another player making a difference was Luke Ellspermann, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Gibson Southern still got an impressive performance from Brodey Lamb, who scored 25 points along with 7 rebounds. Brody Riggs was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Evansville Memorial's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Gibson Southern, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Jasper the next time they take the court. Gibson Southern will head out to face Jasper at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Evansville Memorial will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th.
