Baseball Recap: Altha Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Altha's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Graceville Tigers. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won four games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Altha got a massive performance out of Mason Hill, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. The Wildcats are undefeated when Hill posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was DJ Stone, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Altha always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Graceville only posted an OBP of .231.

Altha pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Graceville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Altha will challenge Sneads at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Graceville, they will take on FAMU DRS at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
