Bennett and Decatur are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Bennett Clippers' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Decatur Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around on Tuesday.
Last Friday, Bennett had to suffer through a rough 60-14 loss at the hands of Wicomico. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bennett has scored all season.
Decatur suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Parkside on the road and fell 62-32. While losing is never fun, Decatur can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while Parkside is ranked 40th).
Bennett's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Decatur, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Bennett came up short against Decatur when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 35-25. Can Bennett avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
