The win was a breath of fresh air for Thales Academy Apex as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.
Nathan Purvis was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that he grabbed two or more steals. Luke Railo was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
Neuse Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aiden Graham, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two blocks, and Josh Martin who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. Martin is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Westin Tilley, who scored five points along with three steals.
Thales Academy Apex's victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-18. As for Neuse Christian Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

As for Neuse Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
