The Lee Williams Volunteers will head out to face off against the Copper Canyon Aztecs at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Lee Williams' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
Lee Williams came out on top against Bradshaw Mountain on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 16-run third inning. The Volunteers put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 22-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Volunteers, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Aivree Austin was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Austin was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ava Willis-Bertram and Sami Marshall did most of the damage at the plate: Willis-Bertram went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Marshall went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Marshall has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Raeleigh Pugh, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Lee Williams always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Copper Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 15-14 heartbreaker at the hands of Glendale. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (13), the Aztecs still had to take the loss.
Maria Espinoza made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with three RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Aldana, who got on base in two of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Lee Williams' record is now 10-14. As for Copper Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lee Williams has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Copper Canyon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Lee Williams took their win against Copper Canyon in their previous matchup back in April of 2016 by a conclusive 18-2 score. Will the Volunteers repeat their success, or do the Aztecs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
