Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Madison-Grant's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Madison-Grant lost to Blackford back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Argylls blew past the Bruins 13-5. The result was nothing new for the Argylls, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Luke Nelson looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Madison-Grant got a massive performance out of Andy Stanley, who went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs Stanley has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Yeagy, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Madison-Grant has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Blackford, they dropped their record down to 7-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Madison-Grant will be playing in front of their home fans against Mississinewa at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Blackford, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-3 win against South Adams on the 7th.
