Baseball Recap: South Lake Finds Home Field Redemption Against Colonial

There's no place like home for South Lake, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Colonial Grenadiers a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on D Pina, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of C Allen, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

South Lake moved to 10-10 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Colonial, they dropped their record down to 5-10 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Coming up, South Lake will head out to square off against Apopka at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Apopka will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something South Lake surely won't give up without a fight. As for Colonial, they will host Evans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Colonial is facing Evans at the right time seeing as Evans is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
