Pierce came out on top against Yreka on Friday thanks in part to Rodrigo Velazquez's efforts. Velazquez was dynamite, picking up a sack and making six total tackles (2.0 for loss). He is on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Looking ahead, Velazquez and Pierce will square off against Gridley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will enter the matchup having just beaten University Prep, so the Bears will have to guard against a team looking to keep the ball rolling.
