Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Fleming was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 322 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wauneta-Palisade only rushed for 192.
Despite the defeat, Wauneta-Palisade saw an underclassman step up: Kreyton Wiese rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 51 yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in rushing yards.
The win got Fleming back to even at 1-1. As for Wauneta-Palisade, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
