Meanwhile, even though Chenango Valley scored an imposing 61 points on Tuesday, Oneonta still came out on top. Oneonta enjoyed a cozy 78-61 win over Chenango Valley. Given Oneonta's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Chenango Valley is ranked 266th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Owego Free Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Oneonta, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Owego Free Academy strolled past Oneonta when the teams last played back in January by a score of 60-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Owego Free Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
