Mt. Hope hasn't had much luck against St. Raphael Academy recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Huskies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Saints at 4:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, St. Raphael Academy faced Barrington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Saints put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 8-1 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Saints sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Isabella Sousa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 17 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Sophie Roman was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ella Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple.
St. Raphael Academy pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Mt. Hope, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.
Mt. Hope might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from St. Raphael Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2019. Will the Huskies have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
