For the first time this season, Centennial will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will face off against the Lake Havasu Knights at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Centennial barely beat Chaparral the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Centennial was the clear victor by a 17-3 margin over Chaparral on Monday. With that victory, the Coyotes brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Cohen Baack made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, JT Price was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. Centennial is undefeated when Price posts two or more runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was William Strand, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
Centennial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chaparral only posted a batting average of .222.
Meanwhile, Lake Havasu got themselves on the board against Mohave on Wednesday, but Mohave never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Thunderbirds with a sharp 10-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Thunderbirds: they've now won five in a row.
Like Centennial, Lake Havasu also got a great game from a two-way player: Brock Cross. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Cross has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.
In other pitching news, Landen Nigg looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Colton Rohn, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to hits, as he's now got three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Braden Towning was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Centennial's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Lake Havasu, their record now sits at 10-3.
