Bowie is 2-8 against Linden-Kildare since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Bowie Pirates will be playing at home against the Linden-Kildare Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Bowie is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
Bowie took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Pewitt, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Bowie narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Pewitt 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pirates have posted since April 12, 2024.
Abigail Dial was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Adaline Holt was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
Bowie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Linden-Kildare had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Maud by a score of 5-2 on Friday.
Callie Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lynlee Lejeune, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Watson, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Bowie's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Linden-Kildare, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bowie hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. However, it's not like Linden-Kildare struggles in that department as they've averaged .374. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bowie couldn't quite finish off Linden-Kildare when the teams last played back in February and fell 4-2. Will Bowie have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
