It was a proper cat-fight when Glen Rock duked it out with Becton on Thursday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Wildcats. Considering the Panthers have won nine contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Nick Atme was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Atme was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
In other pitching news, Glen Rock got a great performance from Casey Loren as he tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. What's more, Loren posted five strikeouts, the most he's had over his last four games.
Back at the plate, J Spitaleri was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Evan Lagemann, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Glen Rock has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.
