Two dominant guards in Janiah Suprius and Elanie Sullard are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Seminole Ridge Hawks will face off against the Atlantic Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Seminole Ridge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 320 points over their last five contests.
Seminole Ridge stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 57-17 win over Santaluces. The win was just what Seminole Ridge needed coming off of a 82-60 loss in their prior match.
Seminole Ridge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Breanna Custodio out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine assists. It was the first time this season that Custodio posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Jayla Midget, who scored 18 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Atlantic walked away with it. They came out on top against the Bulls by a score of 54-45 on Monday. Given Atlantic's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while West Boca Raton is ranked 386th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Seminole Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Atlantic, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.
Everything went Seminole Ridge's way against Atlantic in their previous meeting back in January as Seminole Ridge made off with a 56-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seminole Ridge since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
