Timberlake and Priest River are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. It was a proper cat-fight when Timberlake duked it out with Kellogg on Tuesday. Timberlake pulled ahead with a 61-60 photo finish over Kellogg. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

It was another big night for Tyler Engelson, who went 9-for-19 to rack up 32 points and eight rebounds. He has become a key player for Timberlake: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least 25 points, but 5-8 otherwise. Maximilian Simpson was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and 17 boards.
Meanwhile, Priest River hadn't done well against St. Maries recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Priest River walked away with a 62-50 win over St. Maries. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.
Priest River's win came from a few key players Timberlake will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Palmer Coleman, who posted 11 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Cook, who went 5-for-6 on his way to 12 points.
Priest River was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Timberlake's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Priest River, their win bumped their record up to 14-4.
Thursday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Engelson and Coleman. Engelson has been dynamite this season: he has averaged 21.9 points, 1.4 steals, and 3.5 assists. For his part, Coleman has averaged 8.8 points, 2.4 steals, and 4.9 assists.
