Southington is 9-0 against Glastonbury since September of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Southington Blue Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Glastonbury Guardians at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Southington is ranked 25th, while Glastonbury is ranked 46th).
After a string of three wins, Southington's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Maloney by a score of 20-18. Despite 75 more yards than Maloney, Southington couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Although Southington took the loss, they still got scores from Rashard Williams, Blake Stephens, and Owen Hunt.
Meanwhile, Glastonbury humbled Conard with a 37-10 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Glastonbury.
Maloney's victory bumped their season record to 7-1 while Southington's loss dropped theirs to 5-3.
Southington took their win against Glastonbury when the teams last played back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 27-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southington since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
