The Legacy Longhorns won the last time they faced the Mountain Range Mustangs, and things went their way on Friday too. Legacy managed a 54-49 victory over Mountain Range. Given Legacy's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 22nd in Nevada, while Mountain Range is ranked 156th in Colorado), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Legacy was led to victory by Maven-Bell Toleafoa and D'Anthony Rabb. Toleafoa dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, while Rabb scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rabb has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Armonte Bell, who scored seven points.
Despite the defeat, Mountain Range saw an underclassman step up: Preston Brunton scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for him.
Legacy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Mountain Range, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Canyon Springs the next time they take the court. Legacy will head out to face Canyon Springs at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, while Mountain Range will host them at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
