They really took it to Geibel Catholic for the full four quarters, racking up a 80-42 victory at home. The win was a breath of fresh air for Jefferson-Morgan as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Jefferson-Morgan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dayten Marion led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine blocks. Huston Guesman was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Despite the loss, Geibel Catholic had strong showings from Tommy Kolencik, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds, and Gary Tarbuk, who scored 13 points along with three steals. That was a full 45.2% of Geibel Catholic's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Even though they lost, Geibel Catholic were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. This was only their 13th loss (out of 14 games) when they've passed the ball that well.
Jefferson-Morgan's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Geibel Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-21.
