Basketball Recap: Burns Piles Up the Points Against Riverside

Burns had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38.2 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They really took it to the Riverside Pirates for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-23 victory. With the Hilanders ahead 39-15 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Rocio Garay and Justien Tido certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Garay posted eight points, while Tido put up three points. Tido has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.

Burns pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.5 points over those games. As for Riverside, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.

Burns has already played their next match (against McLoughlin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Riverside, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-8 defeat against Vale on the 10th.
