Blake Ellis Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Starting off the list is Humboldt's Blake Ellis, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Ellis rushed for 193 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also threw for 183 yards and two touchdowns while completing 91.7% of his passes, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards.
The victory for Humboldt keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Ellis and Humboldt will be playing in front of their home fans against Bluestem at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Cole Ramey's Big Game Leads Neodesha over Fredonia/Elk Valley
Cole Ramey posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He picked up 76 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
This season, Ramey has caught 4 touchdowns while averaging 83.2 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after four games last season, he had one receiving touchdown.

Peyton Hare Delivers Electric Effort Vs Bluestem
Eureka found a leader in Peyton Hare as the squad took down Bluestem on Friday. Hare did his part (and then some), rushing for 119 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while also throwing for 21 yards and a touchdown for the 'W'. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 96-yard run.
Eureka's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Hare and Eureka will look to defend their home field on Friday against West Franklin at 7:00 p.m.

Colten Neal Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Sadly, Colten Neal posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Bluestem over Eureka on Friday. Neal rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (104.2). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.
Neal and Bluestem are taking a road trip to square off against Humboldt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will pit Neal up against the Cubs' star running back Cole G. Mathes. Will the matchup be decided in the trenches? We'll have our answer very soon.

J'vonte White Makes It Two for Neodesha
The second Neodesha player making an appearance here is J'Vonte White, and for good reason. He picked up 89 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 63 yards.
On the year, White has caught those 2 touchdowns while averaging 33.5 receiving yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after four games last season, he was only averaging 7.75 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 43 rushing yards.
