The High Tech Mesa Thunder's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Fallbrook, falling 74-37. While losing is never fun, High Tech Mesa can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1231st, while Fallbrook is ranked 575th).
Leading Fallbrook to victory were Samuel Carmona and Christian Myers. Carmona scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds, while Myers dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Carmona has scored at least 25% of Fallbrook's points. Elliott Watkins was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
High Tech Mesa's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-8. As for Fallbrook, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-4.
High Tech Mesa will head out on the road to face off against Castle Park at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Castle Park knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully High Tech Mesa likes a good challenge. As for Fallbrook, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Mission Vista at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th.
