New Kent waltzed into their match on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Tabb Tigers 14-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-7 back in March.
Abbie Kegley made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Kegley was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, New Kent let Brooklyn Wiles and Hannah Tober run wild. Wiles got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Tober went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Wiles has posted since back in March. Cassidy Branch also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
