Mercer County is 7-1 against Rockcastle County since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Friday. The Mercer County Titans will look to defend their home court  against the Rockcastle County Rockets at 6:00  p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
 Last Tuesday, Mercer County came up short against West Jessamine  and fell  52-42.
 Despite their  defeat, Mercer County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays.  Izzie Carlton, who  dropped  a double-double on ten points and ten  rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Carlton hasn't dropped below two  blocks for three straight games. Another player making a difference was  Ak Drakeford, who  scored 20 points.
 Meanwhile, Rockcastle County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Thursday after their third straight  defeat. They took a  52-37 bruising from Knox Central. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest  points Rockcastle County has scored all season.
 Mercer County's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Rockcastle County, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost five of their last six matches,  which put a noticeable dent in their 16-8 record this season.
 Mercer County was able to grind out a solid  win over Rockcastle County in their previous matchup  back in February of 2023, winning  59-46. Will Mercer County repeat their success,  or does  Rockcastle County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
