The Westover Patriots will head out to  face off against the Monroe Golden Tornadoes  at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Westover is no doubt hoping to put an end to  an eight-game streak of away losses.

She is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  stolen  at least one in the last six games she's  played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Savanna Adams, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in two of her three plate appearances.
 Even though they lost, Westover  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .545. That's a new  trend for them: their average  OBP was 34.7% earlier this season, but in their last five games they've averaged 49.5%.
 Meanwhile, Monroe sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  16-15  victory over Westover  last Tuesday. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Golden Tornadoes.
 Monroe let  Joceilynn Thomas and  Ariya Lee loose on the outfield. Thomas  went 2-for-3 with five  stolen bases, four  RBI,  and two  runs, while  Lee  scored three  runs and  stole five bases while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave  Thomas a new career-high in  hits. Another player making a difference was  Raquel Timley, who  scored two  runs and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 Westover's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Monroe, their win bumped their record up to 2-11-1.
 The pitchers for both teams better look sharp  on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Westover has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 4.9  stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Monroe struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 4.6.
