The Lenawee Christian Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Kingston Cardinals at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lenawee Christian put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past Pittsford, posting a 41-0 victory at home. Given Lenawee Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked second, while Pittsford is ranked 25th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Kingston's and Mayville's matchup on Thursday was close at halftime, but Kingston turned on the heat in the second half with 30 points. Everything went Kingston's way against Mayville as Kingston made off with a 38-14 win. The victory was nothing new for Kingston as they're now sitting on five straight.
Kingston haved a senior duo take command as Owen Corlis rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry and James Rayl rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns. Rayl was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards.
Lenawee Christian's victory was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points per game. Kingston has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in seven of their first eight games, giving them a 7-1 record.
