The Hoggard Vikings can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 58-37 margin over Topsail. Winning may never get old, but Hoggard sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Sarah Elgart was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tristan Shivers, who scored nine points along with nine assists and two steals.
Topsail's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Riley Trimble, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. Emmy Clark was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven steals.
Hoggard's victory bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Topsail, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hoggard will take on New Hanover at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. New Hanover is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Topsail, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against South Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully South Brunswick focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Wednesday.
