After a string of six wins, the Vicksburg Gators's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 61-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ridgeland. Vicksburg was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ridgeland apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
It was another big night for Phil Nelson, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals for Ridgeland. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nelson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Khameron Snow, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Vicksburg's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-4. As for Ridgeland, their win bumped their record up to 14-7.
Vicksburg will square off against Terry at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Terry is ranked 18th, while Vicksburg is ranked 12th). As for Ridgeland, they will face off against Harrison Central at 11:30 a.m. on Monday. Hopefully Harrison Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Friday.
