The Rochester Zebras were the 36-27 winner over the Whitko Wildcats when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Rochester fell to Whitko 46-41. That's two games in a row now that Rochester has lost by exactly five points.
Rochester lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ella McCarter, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jadyn Field, who scored four points along with 13 rebounds.
Whitko's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kloe Krieg, who scored 13 points. Krieg has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gwen Howard, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for Rochester and nudges their season record down to 9-9. As for Whitko, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Rochester will head out on the road to face off against Logansport at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Logansport is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. As for Whitko, they will play host again and welcome Lakewood Park Christian, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
