Morgan Mills made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. Mills was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).
In other batting news, Rylee Schmid was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season. Meanwhile, Yorktown unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 5-0 to Briar Woods on Friday.
