The Flat Rock Rams will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Roosevelt Bears at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Roosevelt took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Flat Rock, who comes in off a win.
On Wednesday, Flat Rock got the win against Dundee by a conclusive 20-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.
Vanessa Neace was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Neace was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sarah Giroux was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Ashlin Woodman, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, two stolen bases, and two doubles.
Flat Rock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Churchill hit Roosevelt with a eight-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bears fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 10-9.
Roosevelt saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Papler, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Shaylan Gourlay was another, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. Flat Rock has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record.
Flat Rock got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2019 against Roosevelt by a conclusive 14-2 score. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
