Patterson Mill has gone a perfect 10-0 against Fallston recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The team relied heavily on Mackenzie Knight, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Cadence Pfistner also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Patterson Mill hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Fallston made easy work of Aberdeen on Wednesday and carried off a 17-1 win. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.
Alex McDougall made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Abby Marmen was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Mary Pfaff, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Fallston pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Patterson Mill, their record is now 9-1.
Patterson Mill took their victory against Fallston in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for Patterson Mill since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
