Las Lomas is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Berean Christian on Thursday as they made off with a 17-7 victory. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.
Jimmy Salinas made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Las Lomas let Andrew Misasi and Christo Georgiou run wild. Misasi went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Georgiou got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases Misasi has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Noah Metzger, who got on base in three of his six plate appearances with three runs.
Las Lomas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .540. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Miramonte might've scored the first runs on Thursday, but it was Concord who claimed the real prize. The Matadors fell just short of the Bears by a score of 3-2. The Matadors' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Alex Heath was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits.
On the hitting side, Graham Jenkins made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Las Lomas' record is now 13-9. As for Miramonte, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Las Lomas hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Miramonte struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs.
