The Greer Yellow Jackets lost against the Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Greer was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 51-50 to Blue Ridge.
Despite the defeat, Greer had strong showings from Amiyah Clark-Lamelle, who scored 21 points along with 8 assists and 7 rebounds, and Jalasia Lewis, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Clark-Lamelle scored a full 42% of Greer's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Alyssa Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 2 points along with 4 blocks.
It was another big night for Anyah Henderson, who scored 20 points along with 8 assists and 6 rebounds for Blue Ridge. The game was Henderson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Helena danielle Earley, who scored 12 points along with 9 rebounds.
Greer has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Blue Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greer is on the road again on Monday and play against Berea at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th. As for Blue Ridge, they will square off against St. Joseph's Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully St. Joseph's Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 35 on Saturday.
