The Elk Lake Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Mountain View Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Thursday, Elk Lake made easy work of Blue Ridge and carried off a 14-4 victory. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Red Raiders recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Brayden Miller spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alden Felker was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with five RBI, two doubles, and one triple. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Cohen Orlandini also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Elk Lake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Mountain View got the win against Tunkhannock on Friday by a conclusive 10-1.
Jordan Jagger and Hudson Bain made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Jagger struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Bain pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Jagger also tossed no walks, which is notable because Mountain View is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 1-6 otherwise. At bat, Jagger got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, while Bain went 3-for-5 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Josh Miller was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Mountain View is 3-1 when Miller posts two or more runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Beach, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Elk Lake's record now sits at 10-6. As for Mountain View, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Elk Lake's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's matchup. The Warriors have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Mountain View, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Elk Lake continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Elk Lake's way against Mountain View when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Elk Lake made off with a 10-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
