Volleyball Recap: Monterey Trail Has No Trouble Against Elk Grove

Monterey Trail not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 11th. They put the hurt on the Elk Grove Thundering Herd with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Thundering Herd, too.

Monterey Trail never let Elk Grove on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-22.

Dehryn Brown paced Monterey Trail's offense, picking up 19 kills. Brown got some help from Chris Huang and his 27 assists. Brown was also solid from the service line: he led the team with six aces.

Monterey Trail's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Elk Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Coincidentally, Monterey Trail and Elk Grove will both be playing Sheldon the next time they take the court. The Thundering Herd will head out to face the Huskies at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Mustangs will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
