The Atlantic Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Palm Beach Central Broncos at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Atlantic is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
Atlantic posted their biggest victory since December 4, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 57-33 margin over Olympic Heights. Given Atlantic's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while Olympic Heights is ranked 402nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Elanie Sullard continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Teresa Pierre was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Palm Beach Central pushed their score all the way to 55 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 62-55 to Suncoast. The contest was a 29-29 toss-up at halftime, but Palm Beach Central was outscored by Suncoast in the second.
Despite the loss, Palm Beach Central saw an underclassman step up: Izabelle Vilmont scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That's the first time this season that Vilmont scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Powell, who scored seven points.
Atlantic's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Palm Beach Central, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Atlantic couldn't quite finish off Palm Beach Central when the teams last played back in December of 2022 and fell 67-64. Thankfully for Atlantic, E?zaria Adams (who scored 33 points along with five assists and five steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
