The Nunamiut Amaguq's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight defeat. They were the victim of a rough 55-30 loss at the hands of Non Varsity Opponent. Nunamiut was down 47-16 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Nunamiut's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justus Mulcahy, who scored eight points along with three steals. Mulcahy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tyler Hugo, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Nunamiut's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Non Varsity Opponent, their victory bumped their record up to 146-252-1.
Nunamiut didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-43 defeat vs. Non Varsity Opponent on the 10th. Non Varsity Opponent has also already played their next game, a 45-35 victory against Rochester School for the Deaf on the 10th.
